Vauxhall has unveiled the Corsa GSe Vision Gran Turismo—a fully electric, compact concept car delivering exhilarating performance with 800hp, a 0–62mph sprint in just two seconds, and a top speed of 199mph.
Designed to embody the essence of Vauxhall’s GSe performance sub-brand, the concept showcases bold design and advanced engineering, while offering a preview of future GSe models.
The Corsa GSe Vision Gran Turismo will make its world premiere at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich on September 8. Later this autumn, it will also debut digitally in Gran Turismo 7 as part of the Vision Gran Turismo collection, giving gamers the chance to experience the high-performance EV firsthand.
“The Vauxhall Corsa GSe Vision Gran Turismo takes the GSe sub-brand to the next level,” said Steve Catlin, Managing Director at Vauxhall. “It proves what’s possible on a compact platform, combining the iconic Corsa name with cutting-edge performance engineering to deliver breathtaking results. And for the first time, drivers everywhere will be able to experience it virtually in Gran Turismo 7.”
Kazunori Yamauchi, producer of the Gran Turismo series, added: “We’re delighted to welcome this bold new interpretation of the Corsa to Gran Turismo. Vision Gran Turismo cars are always fan favorites, and we can’t wait for players to drive it in-game following its unveiling at IAA Mobility 2025 and its appearance at the Gran Turismo World Series event in Berlin on September 20.”
Next-Level Performance
The Corsa GSe Vision Gran Turismo delivers a perfect balance of efficiency and exhilaration, powered by a fully electric dual-motor setup. Each axle houses a 476hp (350kW) motor, combining to produce a staggering 800hp and 800Nm of torque.
Paired with a single-speed transmission, this compact powerhouse rockets from 0–62mph in just 2.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 199mph (320km/h). Its permanent all-wheel drive system ensures maximum grip, agile handling, and rock-solid stability on the track.
Adding to the thrill is a boost function, providing an extra 80hp for up to four seconds, making overtakes effortless. The system recharges quickly—split into four 20-second intervals—with progress displayed directly on the steering wheel.
Despite this staggering performance, efficiency remains at the core. An 82kWh battery powers the car, while extensive use of lightweight materials keeps the weight down to just 1,170kg, unlocking a remarkable power-to-weight ratio.
Stunning Technical Design
The Vauxhall Corsa GSe Vision Gran Turismo pairs its blistering performance with a striking, muscular presence. Built on the forthcoming STLA Small platform, the concept showcases the platform’s design flexibility. Though it shares a similar footprint with the standard Corsa, its lower, wider stance gives it a more powerful, athletic character. The dimensions measure 4.19m long, 1.87m wide, and 1.4m high, with a 2.65m wheelbase.
Blending Vauxhall’s motorsport heritage with a bold new direction, the concept embodies a more technical interpretation of the brand’s “Bold and Pure” design philosophy. Precision-cut body lines and finely machined details reinforce its futuristic edge.
At the front, the next-generation Vauxhall Vizor is reimagined in a sleek, slim form. The illuminated Griffin emblem takes center stage within the brand’s signature Vauxhall Compass design element, flanked by horizontal light bars that stretch toward futuristic three-dimensional glass blocks. The vertical axis also glows, accentuating the emblem, while the centre crease flows seamlessly from the front bumper across the aerodynamically sculpted bonnet.
The rear continues this language with a distinctive Compass-inspired brake light created through edge-lighting technology. Bold VAUXHALL lettering spans the width of the car, while the wide taillamp integrates fluidly into the rear window, creating a clean yet commanding finish.
Optimised Aero Solutions with Exquisite Detail
Every element of the Vauxhall Corsa GSe Vision Gran Turismo has been engineered to stay glued to the road at extreme speeds, with aerodynamics playing a central role. Up front, aero skirts and black wheelarch extensions channel air cleanly around the body, improving stability and handling. The aerodynamic alloy wheels—inspired by the iconic three-spoke designs of past performance Vauxhalls—reduce turbulence in the wheelhouses for greater efficiency. At the rear, a substantial active diffuser and adaptive spoiler adjust dynamically: extending to cut drag on straights or raising to deliver extra downforce and even act as an airbrake.
Attention to detail runs deep. The turn indicators are seamlessly integrated as slim edge lights within the bumpers, maintaining a smooth aerodynamic profile. Throughout the car, truncated triangular motifs—a nod to Vauxhall’s motorsport heritage—appear in the wheel design, roof spoiler, and roll cage, uniting form and function.
The visual drama is heightened by a bold colour scheme. The body is finished in pearl white, contrasted with vivid yellow accents on the bonnet, spoiler, and diffuser. The roof and aero wheelarch extensions are rendered in sleek black, crafted from Bcomp, a flax-based material offering the strength of carbon fibre but with a lower environmental footprint.
Detoxed Racing Experience
Step inside the Corsa GSe Vision Gran Turismo and you’re met with a stripped-back, modern racing environment that blends minimalism with purpose. Guided by Vauxhall’s signature Compass design, the cabin is centred around clarity and focus. The slim steering wheel frames a single head-up display, delivering every piece of essential driving data directly within the driver’s line of sight.
The driver’s suspended sport seat, crafted in black with bold yellow accents, is lightweight yet robust, secured with six-point harnesses for complete integration into the driving experience. Combined with a reinforced roll cage, the setup ensures uncompromising safety while enhancing the connection between driver and machine.
Innovative technology also plays a role. Onboard sensors communicate with the driver through illuminated fabrics on the dashboard and door panels, subtly glowing to warn of nearby vehicles—such as when another enters the blind spot. This “painting with light” concept, first introduced on the 2023 Experimental Concept, adds a futuristic layer of interaction inside the cabin.
Marrying its motorsport heritage with the iconic Corsa nameplate, the Vision Gran Turismo offers a bold glimpse into the next generation of GSe models. Compact, fully electric, and performance-driven, it stands as the purest expression of Vauxhall’s dynamic GSe sub-brand.
