A new type of Seaglider rescue capability was recently demonstrated.
REGENT Craft showcased its Seaglider rescue capabilities in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps.
The demonstration showcased the platform’s potential for medical evacuation and casualty evacuation missions.
The demonstrations involved three realistic scenarios: recovering a non-ambulatory patient via “litter boarding” at a dock, extracting a simulated casualty from a beach, and rescuing people from an open-water life raft.
These exercises validated that the Seaglider can: approach survivors at high speed, safely land on water, maneuver next to them, board them, and then take off again — enabling fast, stable medical transport even under challenging maritime conditions.
The Seaglider used in these tests is REGENT’s “Viceroy” model, a wing-in-ground-effect craft that flies very close to the water surface, offering high speed (up to ~180 mph) along with a low radar and infrared signature.
It is designed to operate without a runway, taking off and landing directly from water, which makes it particularly useful in contested or remote littoral zones.
Its interior is adaptable enough to carry medical personnel, equipment, and patients, which is critical for evacuation missions.
This demonstration comes as part of a larger, extended partnership: REGENT has signed a second-phase contract with the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab worth around US$ 10 million, focused not just on medevac/casevac but also on contested logistics missions.
