SpaceX rocket sends 11,000 pounds of scientific investigations, cargo to space station

More than 11,000 pounds of scientific investigations and cargo has been launched to the International Space Station aboard a rocket.


The Falcon 9 rocket of SpaceX has launched Northrop Grumman's biggest-ever cargo spacecraft.


The first Cygnus XL spacecraft of Northrop Grumman successfully reached to International Space Station.


The spacecraft reached its preliminary orbit about 10 minutes after the launch.


The spacecraft carried more than 11,000 pounds of scientific investigations and cargo.


Since its first flight in 2013, Cygnus has delivered more than 148,000 pounds of cargo to the International Space Station. 


The Falcon 9’s first stage landed at LZ-2 following the launch.
