Skyborne Technologies today unveiled CODiAQ (Controller-Operated Direct-Action Quadruped), a next-generation ground robotic system that pairs modular weapon payloads with AI-assisted targeting to deliver precision remote direct-fire and ballistic breaching capabilities. Rapid RDT&E for CODiAQ was funded by the OASW (SO/LIC) SSO Irregular Warfare Capabilities Development & Innovation Directorate.
Built to expand warfighter options on the modern battlefield, CODiAQ integrates Skyborne’s HAVOC 40mm and CHAOS 12GA modular payloads with advanced AI target recognition and onboard ballistics computation. A single operator controls the system through an intuitive handheld remote, enabling precise engagement while keeping user operation straightforward and focused on mission objectives.
Designed for rapid employment and real-world operational use, CODiAQ emphasizes speed, mobility and simplicity. The platform is deployable within minutes and engineered to engage multiple targets quickly and accurately. Its autonomous navigation reduces operator workload, allowing soldiers to concentrate on tactics and decisions rather than platform control. Training requirements are intentionally light—operators can be brought to mission readiness in just a few days—making CODiAQ a scalable, cost-effective force multiplier.
Key capabilities include:
Rapid deployment: System is mission-ready within minutes and built to engage multiple targets in quick succession.
AI targeting & ballistics: The integrated Targeting Electronics Optical Box (TEOB) delivers onboard computing for day/night operations, supporting precision engagements and extended standoff when required.
All-terrain mobility: The quadruped navigates rugged landscapes, wooded areas and urban environments—including staircases—and carries an IP-67 rating for resilience against dust and moisture.
Ease of use: Streamlined control and short training cycles reduce logistical burden and increase operational throughput.

CODiAQ is engineered for tactical human-machine teaming and designed to interoperate with other systems to create a cohesive, AI-driven operational ecosystem. Planned integrations include Skyborne’s Cerberus MI small unmanned aerial systems and other lethal robotic platforms, enabling coordinated effects and enhanced situational awareness across multiple domains.
Skyborne emphasizes affordability and operational efficiency: CODiAQ is intended to provide lightweight, low cost-per-shot solutions that extend soldier lethality and mission flexibility without imposing heavy logistical demands. The modular payload architecture also allows mission tailoring, so units can adapt the platform to varying engagement profiles and rules of engagement.
As CODiAQ moves from rapid development into fielding, Skyborne is working closely with U.S. government partners to test and deploy the system across diverse mission environments. The company says the platform is intended to complement existing force structures—enhancing capabilities while preserving human judgment at the core of lethal decision-making.
By combining autonomous mobility, modular lethality and AI-assisted targeting in a compact, operator-centric package, CODiAQ represents Skyborne’s latest effort to deliver practical, deployable robotic systems that broaden tactical options and improve battlefield effectiveness. The company will continue refining the system through operational feedback and partner collaboration as fielding expands.
