Raytheon, a division of RTX, announced the successful live-fire test of its DeepStrike autonomous mobile launcher—an unmanned vehicle—during the U.S. Army's Project Convergence event.

Raytheon spearheaded the project, developing the precision missile and launcher. Forterra provided the autonomous driving technology, Oshkosh Defense contributed the vehicle platform and electronic systems, and Ursa Major built the missile's rocket motor.

“DeepStrike offers a cutting-edge solution with autonomous operation, enhanced firepower, and a modernized platform to support the Army’s future long-range precision strike capabilities,” said Brian Burton, Vice President of Precision Fires & Maneuver at Raytheon.

“At Project Convergence, we showcased an innovative, self-driving launcher capable of functioning effectively across all terrains, weather conditions, and tough battlefield environments.”

The test featured a newly developed Raytheon missile for the Army’s Joint Reduced Range Rocket program, created through rapid prototyping. The DeepStrike system boosts firepower capacity beyond current systems and can launch missiles of varying sizes—delivering greater mobility and survivability to military operations.

Over the next year, further testing will focus on evaluating the system’s autonomous performance in complex scenarios, including both offensive and defensive missions in challenging environments.
